Fortune Cookies

Ready-made fortune cookies are often available at your local grocery or Asian grocery store. For very large quantities, check for a fortune cookies factory or restaurant supplier near your location. These places are also often willing to offer plain cookies with personalized fortunes in larger quantities for a typesetting fee (if you place your order well in advance). Many online sites also offer personalized fortunes in plain cookies.

Decorating:

For coating and decorating we use WILTON or MERCKENS brand melting chocolate wafers.

1) Melt enough wafers to coat your cookies as per instructions. Dip a cookie into the melted chocolate and remove excess chocolate by gently shaking the cookie.

2) If you are using sprinkles or candy to decorate, quickly add them at this stage. Place the cookies upside down in a wire rack and allow the coating to harden. If you are drizzling colored melted chocolate to decorate, do so when the base coat is already hardened, and place back in refrigerator to allow the colored chocolate to set.

Packaging:

We used clear chinese take-out containers with paper shred and ribbon, but there are alot of other great options available. Enjoy making your fortune cookies!
